Hello,

I am writing to you today in regard to the NSW election scorecard evaluating the major parties’ policies on food, created by Sustain, Food Fairness Illawarra, University of Wollongong, Australia’s Right to Food Coalition, Community Gardens Australia, and Young Farmers Connect.

The way we grow and eat food affects so many aspects of our lives: diet related illness is costing Australia 200bn a year; the price of food and associated cost of living is skyrocketing, with organisations like Food Bank being accessed more than ever; the current industrialised agricultural sector is a leading cause of ecological degradation. For these reasons and many more, it is vital that we work together to create best practice food policy to protect our economy, health and environment.

As a member of your electorate, I am writing to ask you to commit to comprehensive and regenerative food policies for our region. 
This includes: 
•	Committing to the recommendations laid out in the Food Production and Supply in NSW report
•	Establishing a collaborative agency incorporating government, industry and community representatives to develop and implement a NSW food systems plan
•	Working with First Nations peoples to ensure their foodways are protected and allowed to flourish 
•	Facilitating food security through regular monitoring, addressing the root causes such as poverty, funding food aid organisations and factoring in food in crisis preparation plans
•	Reducing food waste through education, funding the food rescue sector, supporting technologies that reduce food waste and regulating aesthetic standards for food waste in supermarkets
•	Funding the establishment of edible spaces in schools and creating food literacy curricula 
•	Support urban agricultural projects such as community gardens and protect remaining agricultural land
•	Support farmers in transitioning to regenerative forms of agricultural practices 
•	Fund education, research and training to build capacity and skill in the food sector

How we use the data you enter on this form

Do Gooder (the advocacy platform powering this online action) processes personal information from you that you enter on this form so that we can provide the functions and related services to you and The Campaigner (the organisation responsible for this online action) for their legitimate purposes, including possibly exporting it to other systems, and to effectively respond to enquiries and communications related to those services.

Specifically when you enter:
